These terms are not legal advice.
1. Acceptance
- By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
2. What this site is
- Data Center Strategies publishes operator-first guidance on data center operations and management, and information about the book Where AI Lives and the Inside Hyperscale series.
- Content is general information and education. It is not engineering design, not commissioning, not legal, financial, or safety advice for a specific facility, and not a substitute for the engineer of record, the commissioning authority, or the site's own authorized persons.
3. No guarantees; use at your own risk
- No uptime, PUE, availability, or safety outcome is guaranteed. Figures are reported ranges or survey-based figures with their bases stated, not promises.
- Procedures, checklists, and frameworks on this site are general guidance material. They must be adapted to the specific facility, reviewed by the site's own competent persons, and applied under the site's own permits and procedures before use. Do not apply a procedure from this site to live critical plant without that review.
- Standards are cited by name and edition where stated (e.g. ASHRAE Guideline 0, NFPA 70E-2027). Standards are paywalled and change; verify the current edition before relying on a citation.
4. Safety
- Electrical and mechanical work on live critical plant must be done only by authorized persons under the site's own permits, lockout/tagout, and NFPA 70E-2027 electrical-safety practice. Nothing on this site directs energized work, and nothing here authorizes any person to perform it.
- If any content on this site conflicts with your site's procedures, your site's procedures govern.
5. Intellectual property
- All content on this site (text, diagrams, checklists) is owned by Data Center Strategies unless otherwise stated, and is protected by copyright.
- You may link to any public page on this site. You may quote short passages with attribution and a link. You may not republish substantial content, reproduce diagrams as your own, or use the site's content to train a model or build a competing product without written permission.
- Third-party trademarks (e.g. Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, NFPA, TIA) belong to their owners. Mention of a standard or body is not an endorsement by that body, and does not imply certification.
6. No certification
Nothing on this site awards, implies, or guarantees Uptime Tier, Operational Sustainability, M&O, or any other certification. Only the awarding body can award it.
7. Consulting inquiries
- Any inquiry sent to the site by email is an expression of interest only. No fixed price, quotation, availability, or engagement is offered or promised by the site or by sending an inquiry email.
8. Book
- Book details (ISBN, publication date, formats, page count, price, retailers) are published only when confirmed. "To be announced" means not yet confirmed, not a price or a date.
- Retailer links, when added, go directly to a page that supports purchase.
9. Links to other sites
Links to third-party sites (including the News page) are provided for convenience. Data Center Strategies is not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices.
10. User submissions
- If you send a correction or a message, you grant Data Center Strategies a non-exclusive right to use it to correct or improve the site. Do not send confidential, proprietary, or site-identifying information.
11. Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Changes and governing law
- These terms may be updated; the current version is always the one posted here, with a new "last updated" date.
